After Both Sides, I wanted to experiment further with the kind of music I could create, drawing inspiration from the likes of Bon Iver and John Mayer. This led to the production of my LP Illusions, which I published in September 2018.

The Beginning

The opening track on Illusions was one of my most ambitious. After Both Sides, I’d gotten a lot more comfortable with music production and mixing, so a lot of time was spent tweaking things in production long after recording had finished. It took me over 6 months before I was happy to call this song finished, and move onto the rest of the album.
